I have always been a big fan of urban and night photography so I was excited for this shoot. I just love cityscapes and all the architectural lines and edges that buildings produce. Factor in fluorescent, neon and moon lighting with the darkness of the night and you get great contrasting pics. So I present to everyone my first attempt at night photography.
To me, photography is capturing the essence of the moment as it is. I'm not a big believer of post production except for cropping pictures. I rather use my skills as a photographer to take the pics I want, the way I want instead of using computer software to manipulate it afterwards. I have nothing against post production and do believe that it is needed for certain things but dislike pictures that have been completely overhauled, losing its original value.
All pics are taken with my Nikon D60 + Nikon 35mm f/1.8 lens + SLIK mini-pro III.
I started kind of early, just before the sun was setting and decided to play around.

They have light shows once in a while. I slowed the shutter to get the water effect.
Well that was the end of my night. For my next outing I want to take cityscapes but I'm still looking for good vantage points.
Tell me what you guys think. All positive/negative feedback and comments are appreciated :D
