Finally uploaded my pics from my LX3, this day occurred about a month ago.
My friends told me about a great steak place just north of Danshui that served 24oz steaks for about $500NT ($16USD) so we decided to trek there for lunch and then head to the beach.

Started my day leaving Hong Kong International Airport at around 10:00am. The flight from HKIA to TPE is a little less than two hours which to me is like flying from San Diego to San Francisco.

Popeyes for breakfast, ain't nothing better than that. Haven't had Popeyes for about four months so I thought I would satiate my hunger.

Met up with my friends at the 7-Eleven right outside of the Zhuwei MRT station at 1:00pm. At that time 7 had a deal where if you bought two of the same items you would get the second one for 40% off. In Taiwan, instead of xx% off, they say you pay a certain percentage. For example, instead of seeing 40% off you would see signs that advertise that you pay 60% of the original price or just 6. This really confused me at first and kind of still does @_@

Long Horn Bar and Grill, this place is about an hour and half drive from Danshui. Their motto is "The Original Taste of Texas" which I cannot confirm since I have never had Texas food before. Once in a while they sponsor a 96oz steak eating contest where you have to finish your steak within one hour. If you finish, the steak is free and if you are the first to finish you get 10,000cc of beer! You have to call 24hour in advance and pay $1,960NT in the beginning just in case you don't finish.

Everyone is tired of the long the journey.

Waiting for the others to arrive. This place gets packed on the weekends so make sure to make reservations a few days in advance if you don't want to wait.
The beef stew was good but I had no beef in mine but a few others were lucky and found some chunks.

I love thousand island dressing. Muy Delicioso!

This is what you come for! Although, currently in Taiwan people are afraid to eat US beef and maybe stores advertise that they do not carry US beef. I got the 24oz, medium rare of course. They also have a 12oz, 36oz option as well as NY strip. They have a wide assortment of Texan appetizers and burgers. This thing is a beast, I only got through about 3/4 of it before I called it quits -,-. I think I could of finished it if I didn't have the appetizers. No complaints about it, I went in craving steak and came out satisfied.
Afterward, we headed towards the beach which was another hour or so drive north. I wasn't able to get pictures of the scenic route since I was on a scooter but the drive there was amazing.
Everyone tired of the drive once again, riding on a scooter for 1hour+ is really exhausting.

People were renting out tents and surfboards.

We rented the blue/white tent under the flag (brownie points if you recognize it :D).

Great weather for the beach. This was back before the daily temperature became 70F and below.

Everyone is so excited.

There were a lot of tan people that day...

...and white people as well
Recognize it now? :DD

Testing the waters.

The water here is pretty murky, not the cleanest but the sand was nice.

I never thought I would see surfers in Taiwan.

Wanted to join them but I didn't have a wetsuit and the water was freezing.

These logs are the result of Hurricane Morakot. They were floating all over the place and when they got to close to shore, they had to be pulled out for safety reasons.

Nice sand.
This is the view towards the beach from the ocean. I really never expected nice beaches in Taiwan, since I always imagined it as being a tropical with thick jungle terrain but I guess I was wrong. I will definitely come back next summer and attempt to surf.
Well that was the end of that day, I hope this journey was as fun for you as it was for me =]
